Back at making live-looping guitar improv / 1st Track available
After 2 years without recording anything with guitars and fully immersed in electronic music and production (which taught me a lot), I’m back at it !
I’m not sure “back” is the right word since I needed a fresh take on the instrument and I’ve decided to now play lap style slide guitar and resonator guitars in particular.
It’s all most like starting back from zero, which is very exciting.. and a lot of work !
I’m also back at making improvised soundscapes solely using effects, live looping and a lapsteel. (I hope I’ll soon have the possibility to do that with a resonator guitar as well).
Here is the 1st one:
This one was made with the same setup I had in Le Principe d’Inconstance but it will evolve into something with more possibilities, something in which the line between the organic and electronic is more blurry.. And you’ll be able to witness this as I’ll release the tracks I’ll do with this setup along the way.
All of these tracks will fill up an album that will be available on Bandcamp: Modular Glitchtar Soundscapes Vol.1
I hope you’ll enjoy this 1st one.. more to come soon !
PS: I’ll let you with a picture showing the computer side of the setup: Ableton Live + DJ Techtools MidiFighter 3D & Twister controllers.
As for the other side of the setup: I’m in the process of rebulding a pedalboard. That 1st track was made with only a guitar preamp and 2 pedals. I’ll make a full presentation once it’s fully done but you can go to Instagram to get to see the new pedals before that.
